Dolphins Y1/2

Bagpipes: 4 May 2018

Dolphins Class enjoyed a taste of Scottish tradition this morning.  Mr Luard kindly came in to school wearing traditional Scottish attire and he brought his bagpipes.  The children were interested in learning about the bagpipes and asked lots of questions.  We all enjoyed Mr Luard's playing very much and the children were inspired to write letters to him in response.

George said, "It was so loud, I shook!"  Izzy said, "It's not my favourite sound, but I found it really interesting." Jessica might be taking up the bagpipes as a new hobby.  She said, "It is the best instrument I have ever heard and I love the sound."

This experience contributes to the children's learning about the countries of the UK.  If you would like to know more about the bagpipes or more about Scottish culture, ask a member of Dolphins Class.
